A graduate of Holyoke Community College where he studied music, Julian Conroy is a musician who has been contracted to work on award-winning games such as Cadence of Hyrule and Crypt of the Necrodancer. When he’s not composing music, Julian Conroy maintains a Twitch channel, on which he streams three times per week. Here are two tips for those who wish to stream their own gameplay on Twitch.

Maintain a Solid Internet Connection

Twitch recommends that all streamers have an Internet connection that offers upload speeds of from 4 to 6 megabytes per second. If your upload speed falls below this, you may struggle to stream at a high resolution and your viewers may experience lag. Consider using an ethernet cable to ensure your Internet connection will deliver.

Consider Streaming Less Popular Games

Jumping straight into a game that a lot of popular streamers already play could lead to your channel getting lost in the shuffle. Instead, look beyond the top 20 titles on the platform and focus on a game that’s less popular among streamers but still has high viewership numbers. This can help you to build a following more quickly.
