The Crypt of the NecroDancer and the Cadence of Hyrule were developed and published by the Canadian-based independent game studio Brace Yourself Games in 2015 and 2019. The Crypt of the NecroDancer is a rogue-like rhythm video game with fundamental elements of hardcore dungeon exploration. In this video game, the players’ actions are most effective when moving the characters set to the rhythm of the current song. Therefore, it is essential to learn the rhythmic patterns that each character follows, as missing a beat renders the characters impaired.

Meanwhile, the Cadence of Hyrule was developed as a crossover for Crypt of the NecroDancer with The Legend of Zelda. The Cadence of Hyrule combines both the fighting mechanisms and rhythm-based movement with elements reminiscent of previous games in the Zelda franchise.
